Susan spent 2 weeks at GPS working with the staff to enhance their understanding and skills in working with students from K - Gr. 11 to teach English speaking, listening, reading and writing. We have used Skype to continue the partnership. It has been a once in a lifetime experience.
Some schools Susan has presented at or consulted to include: The Sterling Hall School, Hillcrest Progressive School, St. Clements Early Learning School, The Mabin School, Branksome Hall, and various schools in the TDSB.

This latest resource from Educational SLP Services is ready! The Direct Route Program will address students' early literacy and intervention needs with systematic instruction of vowel rules. The kit may be purchased as a whole, or by components, to meet your needs. The instruction includes decodable texts, games and activities which are not only evidence-based, but engaging and fun!
When COVID-19 started in March, 2020 in-person sessions had to end immediately. There would be no opportunity to go to students' homes or schools to provide the intervention needed. As with many services, I had to pivot to a totally unknown frontier; the world of telepractice. I found TheraPlatform was the best way to meet the needs of my students, parents and teachers. Not only is the site HIPPA-compliant; provides multiple reinforcement activities and an interactive whiteboard, but also allows for uploading of resources, which is so important to meet each students' needs. While it has taken some trial and error, lots of practise has led to increased comfort in adapting to this new medium. I am happy to say that the students whom I am meeting are making excellent progress!
Many parents have also commented that the online sessions have been very engaging for their children and that their learning has continued.
